The album, then, was widely acknowledged as Priests’ take on the current political climate, and with lyrics like ‘I thought I was a cowboy because I smoked Reds’ and track titles like Pink White House, it seemed like an easy comparison to make.īut the ‘political punks’ label the band quickly became associated with was not one they necessarily agreed with themselves.
